How It Works

Requesting a quote takes only a few simple steps.

  1. Send Product Photos

Text or message clear photos of every side of each box, along with the quantity and expiration date.

  2. Receive a Quote

We'll review what you send and get back to you with a no-obligation quote for anything eligible.

  3. Choose the Next Step

If your supplies qualify, we'll arrange a local pickup or send you a prepaid shipping label. Either way, you pick how you want to be paid.

Basic Eligibility

Supplies need to meet a few basic condition requirements before we can give final acceptance.

  • Factory-sealed
  • Unopened
  • Undamaged
  • Unexpired
  • Eligible for purchase

Eligibility and offers vary. Please check with us before shipping or delivering anything. Full details are in our Terms and Eligibility.

Some products have been subject to manufacturer recalls. We check lot and serial numbers before buying, and cannot purchase recalled items. You can check yours first:

Check your own lot or serial number

These are the manufacturers' own tools and are not run by MedEz. Not every brand has one. If yours is not listed, send a photo and we will check before anything moves.

Local Service With Flexible Options

Local pickup may be available depending on where you are, and approved shipping options may also be available.

Areas we cover

  • Morgan Hill
  • Gilroy
  • South San Jose

Close to these but not listed? Text us and ask. We may still be able to arrange pickup.

Local Pickup

If you are inside our service area we can meet somewhere public that suits you, look the supplies over together, and pay you before you leave.

Shipping

We cover shipping. Once we have reviewed your photos we send a prepaid label, and you do not need a printer to use it.

Why I Started MedEz

I'm Nicolas, and my wife and I run MedEz together.

I started it after noticing the same thing over and over. People end up with sealed, unused supplies once a prescription changes, and other people are looking for those exact supplies at a price they can manage. That gap works better when someone local is handling it.

When you text MedEz, you reach us directly. We're the ones who review your photos and answer your questions, not a call center or a ticket queue. Being local is also why pickup is possible. Instead of packing a box and sending it across the country, you may be able to hand your supplies to someone nearby and be paid before you leave.

Protect Your Personal Information

Before sending product photos, cross out or cover any name, prescription details or patient information printed on the pharmacy label.

Leave the label itself on the box. Peeling one off almost always tears the packaging, and a torn box is usually not something we can buy.

We only need to see the product, the packaging condition, the quantity and the expiration date to start reviewing a quote request.

We may keep your messages so that if you get in touch again, your past conversation is already on hand. You can ask us to delete them at any time. Our Privacy Policy has the details.

Common Questions

If your question is not here, text us and ask.

Is it legal to sell unused diabetic supplies?

Many people have sealed, unused supplies left over after a prescription changes, and selling supplies that belong to you is generally lawful. We can't give legal advice about your particular situation, and there are firm limits on what we're able to buy:

  • Supplies must be lawfully yours to sell
  • We can't buy supplies obtained through Medicare, Medicaid or another benefit program
  • We can't buy anything opened, expired, damaged or tampered with

If you're not sure whether something qualifies, text us before doing anything else.

What brands and products do you buy?

We look at sealed, unexpired supplies in categories like these:

  • Continuous glucose monitor sensors and transmitters
  • Insulin pods, infusion sets and reservoirs
  • Test strips
  • Lancets and pen needles
  • Blood glucose meters

Across brands including Dexcom, Omnipod, Tandem, Medtronic, FreeStyle and FreeStyle Libre, Accu-Chek, Contour, OneTouch, True Metrix and BD.

This is not a complete list, and what we are able to buy changes over time. If you have something that is not named here, send a photo and we will tell you either way.

There is no minimum. One box or twenty, it is worth asking.

MedEz is an independent buyer and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any of these manufacturers. All product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

What do you need in order to quote me?

Four things:

  • Clear photos of every side of each sealed box
  • The quantity you have
  • The expiration date printed on the box
  • Roughly where you are, so we can talk about pickup or shipping

We don't need and don't want medical records, prescription details, insurance information or anything about your health. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle what you do send.

How and when do I get paid?

You choose the method. We can pay by cash, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Cash App or Apple Pay, whichever is easiest for you.

For a local pickup, you are paid on the spot. We look the supplies over together, agree on the amount, and you have your money before we part ways. Nothing to wait for.

If you ship instead, we pay once the package arrives and we have checked everything over. We would rather do that properly than promise a deadline we might miss on a busy week.

How should I photograph my supplies?
  • Cross out or cover your name and prescription details before taking the photo
  • Photograph every side of the box, including the panel with the expiration date
  • Use good light and avoid glare on the printing
  • Show the box as it actually is, including any dents, crushed corners or tears
  • Never peel a label off. It almost always tears the box, and a torn box is usually not sellable. Crossing out your name is enough
What condition do supplies need to be in?

Supplies need to be factory-sealed, unopened, undamaged and unexpired. Boxes that are crushed, torn, water-damaged, stained or written on may not qualify even when the contents are untouched.

Eligibility and offers vary, and final acceptance depends on our review. Please check with us before shipping or delivering anything. See our Terms and Eligibility for the full picture.

Am I obligated to accept a quote?

No. Quotes are no-obligation. You're free to decline for any reason, and it costs nothing to ask.

Where do we meet for a local pickup?

Somewhere public and busy, and you pick the spot. A coffee shop, a grocery store car park, anywhere you would be comfortable. If you would rather we suggest somewhere, we will.

You never have to invite anyone to your home, and you are not committed to anything until you have seen the offer and agreed to it.

Bring the boxes exactly as they are. There is no need to repack anything for a pickup.

Who pays for shipping?

We do. After we have reviewed your photos we email you a prepaid label, so it costs you nothing to send them.

You do not need a printer. The label comes with a QR code you can show on your phone at most Post Office counters, and they will print it for you there. If you would rather print at home, you can do that too.

Please wait for the label before sending anything. We cannot pay for a package that arrives without one.

How should I pack supplies for pickup or shipping?

First and most important: don't ship anything until we've reviewed your information and sent you instructions.

Once you have instructions:

  • Use a sturdy cardboard box, not an envelope or mailer
  • Add padding on every side so nothing shifts in transit
  • Keep product boxes away from the corners of the shipping box, where damage usually happens
  • Do not tape or shrink-wrap the product boxes themselves
